Sony’s Kando Trip 2.0

We’ve had so many questions since we returned from Sony’s Kando Trip in Monterey, CA, so we thought we would jump on and give a quick review! In the next few weeks we will be giving a breakdown of the trip, but today will be all about why we loved it so much!

Upon arriving in Monterey, we instantly realized how many of our favorite people we would be seeing. We kicked the week off with a tour of the Light and Motion warehouse with one of our favorite ladies, Heidi Hall!

Once arriving at the Kando venue, we were instantly impressed. The swag we were welcomed with, fun dorm style rooms, all stationed right off the beach in a forest! Right after checking in we were asked to pick the gear we wanted to rent for the day. That’s right. Any gear you could want, for 24 hours. Once that time was up, go in, and swap it out for new stuff! It was a photographers dream. And not just camera gear. Vendors like Stella Pro Lights, Manfrotto, and so many more were there to loan tripods, lighting and bags! Anything that had been on your wishlist, you got to try out first hand! I mean, check out these images we got with the 90mm macro!!

Throughout the week we were overwhelmed (in the best way possible!) by the thoughtful gifts, food and social activities they planned for us. Kando wasn’t just about trying out new gear, it was about community. Gathering with the most incredible attendees and photographers in the nation and building relationships. They provided unique games to get to know new people and cocktails to give you the courage to take those relationships to the next level!

During the day we had the opportunity to photograph the most incredible sets. Sony brought in models, stylists, hair and makeup, designers and they produced amazing scenes for us to photograph. I won’t spoil it, so take a look below to see some of our favorites!

Sony has really out done themselves with Kando 2.0. We felt so appreciated, loved, and had a great time celebrating this last year with such a fantastic company. In the next few weeks we will be reviewing Kando more in-depth, so stay tuned!
